Rules and source coverage
World Standings
The current official snapshot contains 841 skaters and teams. All 2,922 event awards reproduce from the ISU’s published placements, season-specific point tables and weights. Counting those awards reproduces all 841 totals and tied ranks. This uses the official award ledger; independent verification from every underlying score protocol still requires more competitions.
What counts
World Standings use placement points, not TES, PCS or the competition’s total score. The current window contains 2026–27 and 2025–26 at full weight, and 2024–25 at 70%. Older seasons support earlier snapshots. Overall standings include qualifying Junior results.
The rules retain the best championship result per season, with two counted in the window; Grand Prix and international awards have their own limits. Parenthesized awards in the official table do not count. A new award may leave the total unchanged if it is below the counting limit. Tied totals retain the same rank.
Award tables changed for 2026–27. The site keeps the older tables separately: ISU 2812, ISU 2550, and ISU 1629. The 70% calculation rounds each award to an integer, matching the official published cells. An as-of date also needs the correct rollover snapshot.
What is still needed for independent protocol coverage
The current ledger spans 175 competitions: 77 in 2024–25, 89 in 2025–26 and nine in 2026–27. For 2024–25, 47 award-bearing international event records lie outside this archive, including separate Junior competitions held alongside Senior Challengers. More ordinary internationals are also needed for 2025–26 and 2026–27. The live coverage list under World Standings links to the specific missing events.
- Qualifying ordinary Senior and Junior internationals outside the ISU Events filter, including events such as Bavarian Open, Coupe du Printemps and Triglav Trophy.
- Discipline-specific eligibility: field sizes, represented federations, first-phase participation, judging and technical-panel requirements, and any official exception.
- Verified identity links, partnership changes and official removals from the standings.
- Older dated standings snapshots. The ISU website’s season selector can return the current table for an older requested year; returned season labels must be checked.
- A decisive mixed Senior/Junior Grand Prix case to distinguish counting policies where the written categories and combined display differ. Both policies reproduce every current total; the site preserves the official flags for equal-valued awards.
Challenger designation applies to specific events and categories. A Junior competition alongside a Challenger is not automatically a Challenger. Team competitions, national results and Olympic qualification results are kept separate from eligible World Standings awards. Unknown eligibility is not treated as zero points.
Historical standings require the full three-season window for their date. Importing 2022–23 through 2024–25 does not, by itself, reconstruct the standings as they stood in 2022–23.

Each discipline shows its own official update time: Men, Women, Pairs and Ice Dance. Skater-profile links use the published ISU biography ID, not a name match.
Planning national and domestic results
Organize domestic events by federation, country, season and competition level: national championships, qualifying events, regional events and club or open competitions. Preserve each federation’s category names and identify domestic and international sections of the same meeting separately.
Keep the original scores and their local rules edition, including component factors, bonuses, panel size and effective dates. Federation seasons do not always match the ISU calendar. Profiles should offer domestic and international filters, while best scores remain grouped by compatible rules and category. Domestic scores do not contribute to ISU World Standings or become official ISU records merely because they use IJS.
Before domestic rescoring opens, validate that federation’s rules and protocols independently, using the same fixed-edition approach as the historical international archive.
