A little help at the boards

How to use the lab

Build and score your first program

Choose a discipline and phase in Build & Score. Use each row’s Build Code button to select elements and calls. Assist GOE guides Ice Dance execution marks; Assist scoring guides each component in all four disciplines. Review the suggestion, then explicitly apply your chosen mark. Review deductions and the program audit before opening the score sheet.

Rescore an official competition

Open a competition in Results database, select an event, and choose Rescore individually. Select the phases to preload. Your roster keeps the technical calls and each phase’s starting numbers; GOE and PCS begin unmarked.

Find a competition →
Invite a panel and update technical calls

Choose Create shared panel from a results event, or create a competition yourself. Set 1–9 judging seats and copy the invitation links. Assign up to three technical-panel users separately. Publish revised shared calls from the technical workspace; affected judges are asked to review their marks. Later phases can be added to the same competition.

Open shared panels →
Understand protocols and judge analysis

Choose a phase, then Element comparisons to rank element types, prescribed Short / Rhythm Dance elements, and components side by side. Choose All protocols to see every skater’s GOE and component marks, plus each judge’s totals and rankings. Analysis compares marks with the other judges, highlights differences at your chosen thresholds and shows national-affiliation patterns with sample sizes. A flag invites review; it does not prove a judging error or bias.

Learn the calls and check the rules

Jump rotation and edge calls, spin V calls, and dance key points affect scoring in different ways. The Rules Desk explains the calls and links to the source documents. Component warnings inform judges without limiting the mark they can enter.

Scoring quick guide

How the projected score is calculated

  1. Choose a profile. The season template, component factor, timing rule, and validator change with discipline, level, and segment.
  2. Enter technical codes. Recognized elements use the bundled 2026–27 base value. Use the category-specific Build code menu for jumps, levels and notations. Ice Dance symbols have their own meanings; the legend changes with your discipline.
  3. Project GOE. Select one panel-style GOE from −5 to +5. The app applies the published 2026–27 GOE scale for bundled elements, including the distinct Ice Dance and choreographic scales.
  4. Enter PCS. Each component mean is multiplied by the segment factor and rounded to two decimals; the three factored results are then added.
  5. Subtract deductions. The app calculates deterministic fall deductions and accepts referee deductions.
Total Segment Score TES + Σ[round(component × factor)] − deductions
